The Origami Basics Mini-Course, within the Origamigos membership, is the original version of this course. In this course, we will review basic concepts for success with origami.
- Paper selection to use for origami (Appropriate papers to use for origami, paper sources, and tips on how to use different papers according to the occasion).
- The symbols found in origami diagrams and how to perform the action they represent.
- How to fold some of the classic origami bases from which you can fold dozens of figures.
- How to read and follow a sailboat from diagrams so that you can develop and improve your skill and confidence when working from books.
This basic Origami vocabulary will help you to better chose papers, follow directions from books or videos, and to clearly communicate with others and ask questions as you make progress toward origami mastery. It might also give you some ideas for teaching origami to others.
